Lake Country Rotary Club

The Red Star New Member Program

New Member Development Program is designed to encourage new members to get involved, get acquainted with existing members, and enjoy the fellowship in Rotary.

The Red Star new members wear a Red Star on their badges so existing members can easily recognize a new member and make an effort to get to know them. Once a new member has completed the Rotary activities listed below, and validated by the Executive Secretary, they are recognized for their achievements; the Red Star is removed, and they are considered established members in the Lake Country Rotary Club. Sponsors should assist the new member in completing these activities.

Each new member must:

  1. Give a Classification Talk.
  2. Serve as the Greeter.
  3. Participate in a Club project.
  4. Attend a Club social event.
  5. Make up at another Rotary Club or Board Meeting.
  6. Attend a Club Assembly Orientation Meeting (offered in March and September).

If a new member wishes more information about these items, they should talk to their sponsor, Club Service Chair or Executive Secretary.
